Description: Grammatical analysis of wen-yan, or literary Chinese, and reading of simple texts in semiclassical and classical Chinese

Number of Credits: 3

Prerequisites: 01:165:202 or 222 or placement

Semesters Offered: Fall

Topics:
Basic grammar of classical Chinese, ability to read selections from ancient texts, understanding of Chinese culture

Expected Work: Attendance, participation, daily quizzes.

Exams: Midterm and Final
