Description: Reading, analysis, and discussion of Chinese poetry in various forms from the classical period to the present.

Prerequisites: 01:165:302 or 322 or placement
Semesters Offered: Fall and Summer
Topics:
Development, periods and classification of Chinese poetry, major Chinese poets, poetry appreciation and analysis, discuss position of Chinese poetry in Chinese literature, emphasis is on Tang and Song poetry.
Expected Work: Two or three short essays, quiz, attendance and participation
