Lecturer Profiles

 

          Dr. Shan is currently a visiting scholar and part-time Lecturer at Rutgers University. She received her doctoral degree in Chinese Language and Philology from Beijing Language and Culture University and has previously taught at Beijing Language and Culture University, Peking University, Columbia in Beijing(CIB) and Harvard Beijing Academy(HBA). Her current research focuses on Chinese historical linguistics; Classical Chinese grammar; Chinese historical and comparative dialectology; the origins, history, and development of Chinese koines. Her research interests also include Language pedagogy and Teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
